Craft

I believe in an eclectic look and authenticity.

This means creating a one-of-a-kind, tailored look.

Almost everything we buy these days is made in factories, using mass production.

These objects are generic, furnishing numerous other homes, giving you the "I've seen that item/design before" feeling. They don't really express our individual identity.

When I design a space, I try to find pieces that are unique, that you won't find in stores or on assembly lines.

I was recently looking for a throw blanket for my living room; I almost went with a fleece blanket, which cost a significant amount of money. Then I found myself thinking: I can really do better.

I began searching for handmade throws. I wanted something warm and colorful, something that would blend into my home décor, yet still be unique.

Wandering down memory lane, I got a real blast from the past.

Remember the Afghan? That hand-knitted, multi-colored blanket found in many homes in the 1970s, thrown over the back of a rocking chair or folded at the foot of your grandmother's bed?

On first thought, most people may think the Afghan is something best kept in the past. But think again…

Through my extended search, I found brand new, gorgeous, colorful Afghan blankets that made me fall in love with them immediately. I knew I had found my throw.

What's more is, I think Afghans deserve a real comeback. They are each one-of-a-kind, hand-made. There's no going back to "flammable fleece" made in China.

Crafts are unfortunately disappearing from this world. As you may be able to guess, I am a real sucker for one-of-a kind crafted anything. Let's bring crafts back! And let's make them part of our homes again, part of our lives.
